Approximately 2% of individuals will continue to wet the bed right through their teenage years. If you have not already done so I would strongly advise you make an appointment to speak with your GP. It is essential that you do not try and tackle this on your own – the more support you receive the greater the chance of a successful outcome. When it comes to treatment, the conditioning alarm does experience the best outcome. Is there a particular reason you are reluctant to use this? They do require a great deal of commitment and can take between 3 and 6 months for an effective outcome, however the success rate increases among individual with very infrequent bedwetting like yourself. Given your age - it is unlikely that you will outgrow this on your own, so it may be time to look to more formal measures to help you to stop. Regards, Dr Cathrine
