Hi there, My son is a heavy wetter and we have been using the dry nights nappies for him overnight since he was about 1. They were working great until recently and now he is leaking through every night. He is 2.5 years old and 18kg so would you recommend moving to the 4-7 year old dry nights or would these be too big? Or are they less absorbent since they are meant for older kids? Would appreciate your feedback. Thanks Caitlin

Improper fit is definitely one of the main causes of leakage. From personal experience I found Huggies to be the most absorbent on the market and while I did experience the occasional leakage this was usually a good indicator that my children were ready to progress to the next size. I also found that I needed to upgrade before they reached the upper weight limit listed on the pack. You can try and reduce his urine output by limiting the amount of sugar, dairy- or citrus-based drinks he has as these are known to stimulate the kidneys. If he continues to wet through his DryNites I would certainly recommend you consult with your GP, just to rule out any possible medical cause. All the best! Kind Regards, Dr Cathrine
